Henry Milner

It is with a heavy heart that we have to report the passing of Henry Milner, over the weekend of July 10th, aged 85.

Henry was a very special character, who after officiating on our Bowling Festivals from back in 1991, then helped us in his own particular style with Referee admin at our events based out of the Norbreck Castle Hotel. He had a wonderful sense of fun and mischief, always laughing and joking with folk, and was loved by the Bowling community at large – he was a big man with a huge zest for life, who took enormous pleasure in the game, and it’s participants. He knew how to celebrate the occasional win on the Bingo as well!

Although he had a few ailments ongoing, when I last spoke to him he was just waiting for his second cataract operation, so he could drive distances again, and get himself not only back to our Festivals, but also to watch his beloved Preston North End. Sadly, it was not to be, and he will be very sorely missed.

Rest in peace Henry
